About Dulaney PTSA

Dulaney Mission Statement

The mission of our High School PTSA is to foster a strong partnership among parents, teachers, students, and administrators to support the academic success, well-being, and personal growth of every student.

We are committed to building a connected school community by promoting open communication, encouraging family engagement, advocating for educational excellence, supporting programs that enrich student experiences, and creating opportunities that strengthen school spirit and inclusion.

Together, we work to empower students, support educators, and ensure that our school remains a positive, thriving environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Lion$hare: As the school year begins, we at the Dulaney High School PTSA want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support.   Your generosity directly impacts the vibrant learning environment we strive to create for our students.

We rely on the annual Lion$hare program, a collective donation campaign for the funding of the programs below. This single donation provides crucial funding for a wide range of essential school initiatives. All of your contributions remains within the school to benefit our community.  Your contribution helps make the following possible:

* Generous Scholarships:  The only requirement for participation is that at least one family member is a PTSA member. Any senior applying for this scholarship must either be a PTSA member themselves or a parent/guardian must be a member. In 2026 each student was given $300.

* Enrichment Programs: Enriching classroom activities and providing resources for our school library, Lion$hare ensures that our students have access to acomprehensive and engaging education.

* Essential School Resources: Your donation assists various school departments, providing critical supplies and support forteachers and staff.

* Acts of Community Support: Programs such as the Closet of Caring (see explanation below)  rely heavily on Lion$hare funding, enabling us to provide much-needed assistance to students and families in our community.

* Teacher Appreciation: We believe in celebrating and supporting our dedicated teachers, and your contributions helpus show our appreciation for their hard work and commitment.

* Closet of Caring: There is a closet in the office of the school that is always unlocked and available to any student who needs items such as: school supplies, personal hygiene, clothes, socks etc. This closet is funded through the Lion$hare (which was explained in last week’s email blast). This closet goes through about $2000 worth of items per school year. One of the most used items is black leggings for girls who may have a personal hygiene accident and need to change. Did you know the closet purchases about 100 leggings a year and they go through them all. Of course if you have any items to donate please drop them off at the office but put them in a bag and clearly mark “Closet of Caring” ( ex: travel size items from a hotel, new items are preferred). We have a great group of parents/ guardians who supply this closet frequently and keep it organized.

* Grad Gala is an allocated budget line for the after prom party for each Class. This money is only used for Grad Gala ( which runs from 11:30 am- 2am). The Grad Gala is organized by a group of parents from the graduating class. Fundraising for this begins in freshman year. The cost of this ranges depending on what the parents wish to organize. It can cost $15K (Bowlero)cheapest up to $40 K ( at the Fairgrounds where they rent out a pavilion and have a casino theme). At the Grad Gala there are prizes for the students to win. The goal is to keep the students at this event to prevent them from going elsewhere and drinking and driving. Parents who volunteer for this must be PTSA members as the insurance protects them. You can imagine that the PTSA board does not have the time to plan this event for each class as we all work and volunteer to run the PTSA so we need parental help for this.

Thank you for considering a contribution to the Lion$hare program. Your partnership is vital to the success of our students and the Dulaney High School community. To make a donation, visit https://dulaneyptsa.givebacks.com/shop/*
